Pitacca is a personal credit card and spending management app for iOS. It helps you track your credit cards, log receipts, set budgets, and stay on top of billing cycles and due dates β€” all from your phone.

Your financial data stays on your device, giving you full control over your information.

No. Pitacca does not connect to your bank accounts, process payments, or provide financial advice. It is a personal organizer for tracking your credit card spending, receipts, and budgets.

Getting Started

When you first open the app, you'll be guided through a short onboarding flow:

  1. Accept the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
  2. View a welcome screen and guided feature tour.
  3. Optionally start a free 7-day Premium trial.
  4. Add your first credit card (optional β€” you can do this later).
  5. You're in! Start tracking your spending.

No. You can use Pitacca as a guest without creating an account. However, signing in with Apple or Google unlocks cloud backup, the ability to redeem voucher codes, and purchase restoration across devices.

Pitacca supports 190+ countries with currencies including USD, CAD, GBP, AUD, JPY, SGD, PHP, INR, and many more β€” so wherever you are, the app works in your local currency.

Currently, Pitacca is designed around one active country and currency at a time. This keeps your spending data clean, consistent, and accurate. If you move to a new country or need to switch currencies, you can update your country in Profile settings β€” just keep in mind that since currency affects all your cards, budgets, and history, switching will require a fresh start via a reset. Think of it as a clean slate for your new financial context.

🌍 Multi-currency support is on our roadmap! We're actively working on the ability to manage cards and expenses across multiple currencies simultaneously β€” so this won't always be a limitation. Stay tuned.

Cards & Spending

Free users can add up to 3 credit cards. Premium subscribers can add unlimited cards.

Free users can still view cards beyond the 3-card limit in read-only mode, but cannot edit them or add receipts to them.

Pitacca stores only basic card details: bank name, card brand (Visa, Mastercard, etc.), last 4 digits, credit limit, card tier/status, and billing cycle dates.

βœ… Pitacca never stores full card numbers, PINs, or banking credentials.

Pitacca supports: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Diners Club, UnionPay, Maestro, Elo, Mir, and a generic "Other" option for any card type not listed.

You can add receipts two ways:

  • Manual entry β€” Type the merchant name, amount, date, and select a spending category (Need, Want, or Bill).
  • Receipt scan β€” Use your camera to scan a physical receipt. Pitacca uses on-device text recognition (OCR) to automatically extract the merchant name, amount, and date β€” and even auto-categorizes the purchase.

Free users get 5 receipt scans per month. Premium users get unlimited scans.

Every receipt is assigned one of three categories:

  • Need β€” Essentials like groceries, gas, medicine, and household supplies.
  • Want β€” Non-essentials like dining out, entertainment, and shopping.
  • Bill β€” Recurring payments like utilities, rent, subscriptions, and insurance.

This helps you understand where your money is going and stick to your budget.

Yes. When adding a receipt, you can set it up as an installment plan (e.g., 3, 6, or 12 monthly payments). Pitacca also supports Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) arrangements with deferred start dates and optional interest rates.

The app automatically creates individual monthly payment entries so you can track each installment.

Yes. You can mark individual receipts as paid or unpaid at any time. This helps you track what's been settled versus what's still outstanding on each card.

Billing Cycles & Due Dates

When you add a card, you can optionally enter your billing cycle start day, statement day, and how many days after the statement your payment is due.

Pitacca uses this information to calculate your next statement date and payment due date, and sends you timely reminders so you never miss a payment.

Free users receive core safety notifications including:

  • Due date reminders (7 days, 3 days, and 1 day before)
  • Missed payment alerts
  • Budget overrun warnings

Premium users also receive smart insights like weekly spending summaries, spending trend alerts, category spike detection, and more.

Budget

You can set a monthly budget broken down into three categories: Needs, Wants, and Bills. Pitacca tracks your spending against these targets and alerts you when you're approaching or exceeding your limits.

Yes. You can update your budget allocations at any time from your Profile settings.

Pitacca offers two subscription plans:

Exact pricing is shown in the app and varies by region, as determined by the Apple App Store.

Yes. New users can start a 7-day free trial of Pitacca Premium. You will not be charged during the trial period. The free trial is available once per account.

You can subscribe from within the app β€” either during onboarding or later from the Premium section in your Profile. Subscriptions are processed through Apple In-App Purchase.

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. To cancel:

  1. Open your iPhone's Settings app.
  2. Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
  3. Find Pitacca and tap Cancel Subscription.

⚠️ Cancellation is managed entirely through your Apple ID β€” there is no in-app cancellation button. You will continue to have Premium access until the end of your current billing period.

If you reinstalled the app or switched devices, go to your Profile in the app and tap Restore Purchases. This will re-link your active subscription.

⚠️ You must be signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase, and you must be signed into Pitacca with Apple or Google (not as a guest).

Voucher Codes

Voucher codes grant free Premium access for a specified number of days. They may be distributed through promotions, giveaways, partnerships, or customer support.

Go to your Profile, tap Redeem Code, and enter your voucher code. The code will be validated instantly. If valid, Premium access is activated immediately.

Yes. If you redeem a voucher while you already have active Premium (from a subscription or a previous voucher), the additional days are added to your existing expiry date. They stack β€” you don't lose any time.

Voucher redemption requires a linked account (Sign in with Apple or Google). Guest accounts cannot redeem vouchers.

Other reasons a code may not work:

  • The code has expired.
  • The code has reached its maximum number of redemptions.
  • The code has been deactivated.
  • You have already redeemed this specific code.

Notifications

Pitacca notifications fall into three categories:

  • Safety β€” Due date reminders, missed payment alerts, credit utilization warnings, and minimum due warnings.
  • Insights (mostly Premium) β€” Budget overruns, weekly summaries, spending trend alerts, category spikes, end-of-month forecasts, and unusual spending detection.
  • Tips (mostly Premium) β€” Subscription reminders, inactive card alerts, impulse purchase nudges, savings suggestions, budget streaks, and milestone celebrations.

Yes. In the Notifications settings (gear icon in the notification inbox), you can enable or disable entire categories (Safety, Insights, Tips) according to your preferences.

Pitacca sends a maximum of 5 notifications per day to avoid notification fatigue. Duplicate notifications are filtered so you only see each alert once per day.

Notifications are stored in your inbox for 7 days.

Account & Sign-In

  • Sign in with Apple β€” Uses your Apple ID for secure, private authentication.
  • Sign in with Google β€” Uses your Google account.
  • Guest mode β€” Use the app without signing in (limited features).

Guest accounts can use all core app features but cannot:

  • Sync data to the cloud
  • Restore purchases on a new device
  • Redeem voucher codes

⚠️ Guest account data is stored only on your device. If you delete the app or switch phones without first linking your account, your data will be lost.

Go to your Profile and sign in with Apple or Google. Your existing data will be migrated to your new linked account, and you'll unlock cloud backup and voucher redemption.

Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on any device signed into the same Apple ID. However, local card and receipt data is stored on-device.

Cloud backup (Premium) helps keep your account information synced across devices.

Privacy & Data

Pitacca collects only what's necessary to provide the service:

  • On device (local): Card details (last 4 digits only), receipts, budget settings, receipt images, notification preferences.
  • In the cloud (if signed in): Account info (name, email, auth provider), premium subscription status, and redeemed voucher history.

βœ… Pitacca does not collect full card numbers, PINs, banking credentials, or any data that could be used to make purchases or access your bank accounts.

No. Pitacca does not sell your personal or financial data to third parties. Only anonymized usage analytics are collected to help improve the app.

Your financial data (cards, receipts, budgets, receipt images) is stored locally on your device. Account and subscription information for signed-in users is stored securely on Firebase (Google Cloud) with industry-standard encryption.

Yes. To request account deletion, contact us at pitacca.support@gmail.com. Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of the request.

  • Guest users: All data is permanently lost.
  • Signed-in users: Your local data (cards, receipts, images) is removed from the device. Your cloud-stored account information and subscription status remain and can be recovered by signing back in after reinstalling.

Troubleshooting

The free tier is limited to 3 active credit cards. Upgrade to Pitacca Premium for unlimited cards.

OCR accuracy depends on receipt quality, lighting, and formatting. After scanning, you can manually edit any field (merchant, amount, date, category) before saving.

If you were signed in with Apple or Google and had Premium cloud backup, your account information and subscription status can be restored. Local data (cards and receipts) stored only on-device cannot be recovered after app deletion.

If you signed in with Apple and later revoked Pitacca's access in your Apple ID settings, the app will automatically sign you out for security. Re-authorize the app or sign in again to continue.

Go to Profile and use the reset option. You will be asked to confirm, and if you have an active Premium subscription or voucher, you'll receive an additional warning about potential data loss.

⚠️ Type "RESET" to confirm. This action is irreversible.
